ASCAP sues 13 venues for copyright infringement

A Wichita Falls bar is one of 13 venues being sued by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers for copyright infringement.

Lone Star Bar, 3600 Old Jacksboro Hwy., is one of the bars and restaurants being sued by ASCAP for unauthorized public performance of copyrighted musical works.

A suit was filed Feb. 25 in the United Stated District Court, Northern District of Texas, Wichita Falls Division, against Abbey Amburn, Amburn Holding Limited Partnership - the owner of Lone State Bar.

The bar's website states the establishment opened in 2014 under local ownership with "over 30 year of experience in the bar business."
