New Pokemon Go Update Gets New Monsters From The Johto Region

By

Pokemon Go will finally get the update fans have been clamoring for a long time. The update will be launched next week that will add more Pokemons from the Johto region for players to catch and collect.

The new Pokemons will be like the other creatures found in the game that can be captured by going out in the real world and seeing what players can catch. Besides more creatures, the new update for Pokemon Go will also introduce new mechanics such as berries, evolution items and more outfit options for players based on an article in Kotaku.

According to Niantic, developer of Pokemon Go, the update will add two new berries. The Nanab Berry can be used to slow a Pokemon's movement. Meanwhile, the Pinap Berry will double the amount of candy received if the next catch attempt is successful.

The full list of Pokemons from the Johto region can be seen on Bulpabedia. It is unlikely though that legendary creatures from Gold and Silver will appear on Pokemon Go. Even legendaries from the first generation have not made it to the current version of the app like Mewtwo.

The good news is that players who have captured certain Pokemons can now evolve them to new to new creatures once the update rolls in. For instance, Onix can be evolved into Steelix while Chansey can turn to Blissey.

When Pokemon Go was first unveiled, fans new and old were filled with excitement as the Pokemon game they've been dreaming about is turning to reality. Then again, dreams don't always translate to reality as when the game finally became available, the actual app didn't have many of the features shown in the trailer. Initial reviews for Pokemon Go were mediocre at best and was criticized for its lack of content.

Pokemon Go wasn't the global phenomenon it once was but this is the kind of updates that the app needs to sustain the momentum. Let's just hope users will continue playing the game keeping it alive until it reaches its full potential.
