The Good Wife Updates: Spinoff 'The Good Fight' Returning To Canada TV

By

W Network will soon air the popular Good Wife spinoff: The Good Fight. Debuting on Sunday, Feb. 19 on both Global TV as well as W at 8 PM, the series' episodes in the future will exclusively air on W.

The series will debut Sunday, Feb. 19 at 8 p.m. on both W and Global TV, with future episodes airing exclusively on W. After The Good Wife's finale with a year, The Good Fight picked up featuring a financially destroyed Christine Baranski (who plays Diane); forced out of her own law firm by a Bernie Madoff-type scam.

Diane then promptly joins arms with Lucca Quinn's (played by Cush Jumbo) predominantly black firm alongside with her goddaughter Maia (played by Rose Leslie). Popular returns also include Robert and Michelle King who are the creators of Good Wife.

The star of Good Wife herself, Julianna Margulies, however, will not be part of the much anticipated spinoff. While talking to The Star in February, Robert King spoke of how the series would feature themes criticizing the predominantly criticized President Donald Trump presidency.

King said, "We're not necessarily looking at the nuts and bolts of what Trump wrought as president but his impact on the culture." He added, "And we're satirizing how Liberals are acting. Or maybe overreacting. And how that dynamic is played out."

Additional stars of The Good Fight include Erica Tazel, Delroy Lindo, Justin Bartha and Sarah Steele. The Canadians will finally be able to view the show alongside their US counterparts. In the States, CBS All Access will be airing the show - a channel that is not legally available in Canada.

Prior to this, The Good Wife was aired on both CBS and Canada's Global. With plenty of recurring stars, the show also features new faces, building a steady audience. Many fans of The Good Wife are eager to see what The Good Fight has in store for them.
