This Sunday, the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons face off for the Lombardi trophy at Super Bowl 51.

The two teams advanced to the Super Bowl by beating their respective rivals in the conference championships. The Falcons defeated the Green Bay Packers 44-21 in the NFC Championship game while the Patriots disposed of the Pittsburgh Steelers 36-17 in the AFC Championship game. According to the website of the National Football League, this will be the 7th appearance of New England in the Super Bowl in 16 years while the Falcons will be in their 2nd appearance since 1998.

The website of the Atlanta Falcons revealed that the Super Bowl features two of the best offensive teams in the league. New England topped the regular season in points and second in yards, respectively. The Falcons, on the other hand, are third and fourth in those categories. It also features the two best quarterbacks in the NFL in Matt Ryan and Tom Brady.

New England has already won four Super Bowl titles. It will be the sixth appearance of the team under coach Bill Bellichik. For quarterback Tom Brady, it will be his seventh appearance, a record for any player in any position. Matt Ryan, on the other hand, is a strong MVP candidate. During the NFC Championship game, according to the website of KDVR, Ryan threw for 392 yards and 4 touchdowns and ran for one more score.

Their defense throughout the season has also been excellent. In 6 of 8 games, the Falcons have allowed less than 21 points since their bye week last November. The Patriots topped the league in the fewest points surrendered of any team in the regular season at 15.6 per game.

Lady Gaga will provide the halftime entertainment in Super Bowl 51 to be held at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
