Joey Cramer, former Disney child star, has been arrested by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) on Sunday on suspicion of robbing a Canadian bank in British Columbia. He has acted as a preteen Disney star during the mid-1980s and performed a lead role in 1986's 'Flight of The Navigator'. He has also appeared in TV movies and two episodes of 'Murder, She Wrote' before leaving the celluloid world.
Real name of the former artist is Deleriyes Joe Cramer. He has portrayed character of a 12-year old boy in the 1986 movie. Paul Reubens, Veronica Cartwright and Sarah Jessica Parker have also acted in the movie.
He has also performed in 'The Clan of the Cave Bear' and in 'Runaway'. In 1987, his acting career has come to an end with the movie 'Stone Fox'.
The wig-wearing bank robber in surveillance footage has been spotted as the former actor by the investigators. Wearing a shoulder length wig, bandana and dark jacket, the 42-year old has allegedly demanded an undisclosed amount of cash from a Sechlet bank on Thursday. The bank is in 30 miles northwest of Vancouver, reports People Magazine. He has fled the bank on foot and has been captured following a chase. Cramer has also been facing charges of failing to stop against a peace officer's call and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, according to a report published in New York Daily News. Despite using a disguise during the robbery, some police officers have quickly identified him following a recent dealing with him on a non related matter, reports SF Gate quoting Constable Harrison Mohr. However, the Constable has failed to inform whether Cramer used a weapon. Prior to Sunday and after leaving the movie arena, he has appeared in the headlines in 2011 for criminal activity. He has been accused of cashing fake checks throughout the province by the authorities. Cramer has been convicted in the lawsuit with a six-month sentence and 18-month probation. He is in the custody since his arrest on Sunday. It is not disclosed whether Cramer has hired an attorney to fight his case.
