Kieran Foran to Sue Sea Eagles After Alleged Underpayment Claims

By

Manly is being questioned over information that Kieran Foran may have been owed an approximate of $140,000 from a third-party deal during his run at the Sea Eagles. The said claim from the athlete renders a possibility of more investigations from League Central on whether to settle or attest.

According to Sporting News, the now Parramatta Captain, New Zealander international left Manly during the end of last season, after a signed contract that summed up to nearly $4 million worth for over four years. Sadly, there is seemingly an unfinished agenda between him Foran and the former club as there are financial issues that could be taken to court.

As per Sydney Morning Herald, Manly hired lawyer Tim Unsworth to be their legal representative. Manly official Peter Peters was quoted on his defense regarding the said matter, saying, "I've got to be honest, I have spoken to Kieran about this, and I've suggested he really talk to his manager [Paul Sutton] because there doesn't seem to be any paperwork on this. It's a mystery. If it's got to go to court, it's got to go to court. I try not to get involved with issues like that. I don't want to because he's a good mate.

I'm not sure whether he's going ahead with it. If he is, that's his right. But it'll be settled ... settled by the courts. I don't know enough about it. All I know is, that whenever I've asked about it, is that nothing is in writing anywhere that suggests that that's the case. But it's not for me to say."

News JS noted that the legal matters will rely heavily on any and all paper works acknowledged by both ends. So far, however, none has been found yet which stirs up more questionable claims. As for Kieran Foran, his focus is directly towards his new duties with Parramatta.

Foran has not spoken further on about the issue.
