'X-Men: Apocalypse' is an upcoming superhero film directed by Bryan Singer. New trailer footage has recently been leaked online. Olivia Munn, who plays the powerful mutant Psylocke, admitted her love for the character and underwent intense physical training in preparation for the role.
According to Outer Places, the latest official trailer for the upcoming superhero film may be released soon enough. 20th Century Fox announced the news through their Spanish Twitter account on March 15. The first teaser, unveiled during the Super Bowl TV Spot, offered a first look at Oscar Isaac's titular supervillain Apocalypse as well as the brand new younger versions of the 'X-Men' mutants.
However, it was reported by Cosmic Book News that trailer footage has somehow been leaked online ahead of its official release. It radically put more focus on Apocalypse's Four Horsemen namely Olivia Munn's Psylocke, Ben Hardy's Angel, Alexandra Shipp's Storm and Michael Fassbender's Magneto.
The Four Horsemen are Apocalypse's genetically and mentally altered underlings who have been enhanced with extremely powerful abilities. They always play key roles in Apocalypse's plans of dominion. Their titles Death, Famine, Pestilence and War have been derived from the biblical Four Horsemen.
Munn couldn't help but express her enthusiasm over her new villainous role saying that she has always loved the mutant for a long time. According to Comic Book Resources, she even underwent intensive physical training for the new role.
She said, "I've loved Psylocke for so long... She's a really, really strong badass female character in this comic book world where a lot of times the women don't get to be strong and badass. You see a lot of superheroes [who] don't always want to kill, and they'll avoid it if they can. She's never had a problem killing, and I like that she was the bad guy that had no problem being the bad guy."
The 35-year old actress added that Psylocke is gifted with extraordinary telekinetic and telepathic abilities. She can also create anything with just her mind. In the original Marvel comic books, her powers are on par with Jean Grey and Professor X.
In addition to her superhuman mental abilities, she is also a master martial artist who uses various Ninjutsu techniques including Taijutsu and Kenpo. She is also well versed in numerous ninja weaponry and acrobatics.
'X-Men: Apocalypse' is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel comic books of the same name. It is directed by Bryan Singer and written for the big screen by Simon Kinberg. It is scheduled to be released on May 27, 2016.
