Google is taking new heights for Android N as the preview revealed unlikely feature that involves multi-window mode. Android N was previewed with new APKs enabling to drag and drop text across apps in multi-window.

Android N developers boasted a new feature that no other OS developers in history has made. Per preview revealed last week, Android N will enable to drag and drop text across apps in multi-window.

Drag and Drop Text across Apps in Multi-window

Google developers must be rejoicing for making a breakthrough with the multi-window mode. While there's a lot going on already with this mode, this new feature will refurbish it into something more useful.

With Android N, dragging and dropping text across apps in multi-window mode is made possible. Samsung already pioneered this functionality but Google wants other Android phone users to be able to experience such ability. Although Android N's version seemed to be a bit awkward for now, Google will definitely go an extra mile for this feature.

While Samsung's version can drag and drop images, Google is taking one step at a time, allowing support for text only as of now. Moreover, Google underlined that other contents, including images, can be supported by using new APIs. This feature works by highlight the text, long pressing it, before dragging it to another window.

According to Android Police, the feature "does feel very buggy and incomplete at the moment" as some apps are not functioning accordingly and window makes it hard to copy text since keyboard is blocking it. However, until the second and final previews are released, fans can expect a cleaner and more functional version in the feature.

Meanwhile, Android N Preview also revealed more functions for the notification shade with bundling and direct reply, split-screen multitasking, picture-in-picture mode, and a lot more.
