The Incredibles 2: Syndrome and The Underminer might return; Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl retiring?

By

The superhero family of five is set to return in the upcoming The Incredibles 2. Official plot details are currently under wraps as the project is in its early stages, however, it did not keep plot rumors from surfacing in the internet.

It will have been 15 years since the first movie hit theaters in 2004 when the sequel finally arrives. But unlike in real life, the sequel is rumored to establish a 6-year time jump since the events from the previous movie. The Parr children would look more different, with its youngest member, Jack Jack being six or seven years old.

Although he was portrayed as an adorable baby in the previous movie, Movie News Guide reported that Jack Jack will get a meatier part in the sequel. The rumor mill suggests that he could be the next villain in the movie after he would be mentored by Syndrome.

According to Vine Report, the sequel could feature the return of Syndrome as villain. Despite being defeated, Syndrome will reportedly lure the youngest Parr, who is unable to control his powers, to train him and use him against his own family.

Other plot speculations claim that Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl would no longer be in the crime fighting scene as they would retire and hand over the responsibilities to Violet and Dash. According to Master Herald, Samuel Jackson's Frozone could also return who will still be an ally to the Parr family.

Aside from Syndrome, The Undermine is also rumored to make a comeback in the sequel and wreak havoc once again. Director Brad Bird is tight-lipped on the plot, although he previously revealed that it would be a mix of the old ideas he didn't get to use in the first film and new ideas for the sequel.

The voice actors for the superhero family have not been revealed as well. More details are expected to be revealed about The Incredibles 2 as it nears its June 21, 2019 release date.
