Creator Liz Meriweather revealed how lead actress Zooey Deschanel's absence is an advantage in "New Girl" Season 5. Series creator Elizabeth Meriweather discussed with Vulture about "New Girl" lead actess Zooey Deschanel's Jessica "Jess" Day absence is an advantage. Meriweather stated that the good thing about Deschanel's maternity leave is that the show does not feel so different or incomplete. Deschanel's absence gave way for other characters to step up like Winston Bishop (Lamorne Morris) and Cece Parekh (Hannah Simone) who are able to have more storylines this season.
As for the official spoilers of episode ,8 TV Guide notes, "Pharmaceutical representative Reagan (Megan Fox) causes chaos when she tells Chicago bartender Nick Miller (Jake Johnson) and Winston that she will only sleep with one of them, in an attempt to challenge the guys' indecisiveness. Schmidt (Max Greenfield) is reunited with his college frenemy, Benjamin (David Neher), when he looks at wedding venues with Cece."
