Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has at least lessened one trial that he has to face.  The convicted murderer has settled a civil lawsuit in Florida with a former associate and friend, who claimed that Hernandez shot him in the face.

Hernandez's settlement with Alexander Bradley was filed on Friday. Details about the agreement were not disclosed. Bradley reportedly lost his right eye when Hernandez shot him in the face and left him for dead during their dispute on Feb. 13, 2013 outside a nightclub in Riviera Beach, Florida, ESPN reports.  Bradley's attorneys wrote in the court filing that the matter has been settled.  The former NFL star was previously charged with witness intimidation to Bradley, who is a state's witness to the double murder of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado in July 2012.

As Boston Globe reported, Bradley has been given immunity in Hernandez's trial in Suffolk Superior Court in Boston.  According to reports, Bradley was with Hernandez when the latter fired shots to de Abreu and Furtado.  Prosecutors claimed that the Hernandez opened fired on the victim's car when they inadvertently hit the 26-year-old former football player's car. Apart from the wrongful death lawsuits filed against Hernandez by de Abreu and Furtado's families, he is also already serving a life sentence for fatally shooting Odin L. Llyod in June 2013.

According to International Business Times, Hernandez was charged with witness intimidation in May 2015 after he shot him in the face. During the time, Hernandez was scheduled to be prosecuted in Boston after reports showed that he intent to impede a criminal investigation. Bradley was a witness to the 2012 double murder case and also to Lloyd's murder case. If the trial continued, Hernandez could be indicted with a maximum sentence of up to 10 years.

Hernandez faced two counts of first-degree murder and three counts of armed assault, single count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm. After he was convicted in April 2015, he was transferred to the Massachusetts Correctional Institution-Cedar Junction in Walpole, Massachusetts.
