‘Suits’ Season 5 episode 12 & 13 recap: Donna and Rachel get caught in the crossfire

'Suits' Season 5 brought back Mike's (Patrick J. Adams) fraud in the centerfold with Frostman temporarily out of the picture, "Suits" shows how Mike's sins affect other characters.

In the spoiler posted by Design & Trend, Suits creator said that DA Anita Gibbs will continue to force Rachel and Donna to choose sides.  Both women are respectively caught in the crossfire in episode 12 and 13.

In episode 12, with Donna back on Harvey's desk, DA Anita Gibbs took no time to press where it hurts as the earlier part of the episode has Donna under questioning. Donna refuses to talk but is surprised to find out that his father is just across the other interrogation room. Gibbs wants to cut a deal with Donna: sold Harvey out and they will drop charges against her father.

Upon learning about Donna's dad, Mike feels horrible as he contemplates on taking a deal before Gibbs drags everyone in the firm. Jessica, who got a wind of Mike's plan shut it down and accused Mike of turning his back on people who have protected him.

The episode has been building up to the big reveal: Who sold Mike out? In TV Guide, Suits' boss Aaron Korsh that it is someone with no axe to grind against Mike. In turns out the tip is right. It's Sheila Shultz, Louis' ex who happened to notice that Mike Ross has no records of attending Harvard.

Harvey managed to get Donna's dad out of the loop by striking a deal with the DA to drop his motion to dismiss. At the end of the episode, it is revealed that Shiela came forward to the DA as the anonymous source.

Fast forward to episode 13, Gibbs shifted her focus on Rachel. Gibbs wrote an editorial article putting Pearson Specter Litt in bad light and contacted the Columbia Law dean to threaten Rachel's future as a lawyer.

Rachel was aghast upon learning that the dean thinks Mike took the LSATs for her.

Meanwhile, Mike continues to put on a straight face and pretend he's not guilty in front of Gibbs. As they meet in the courtroom, Mike recognizes Gibbs' second chair as the person whom he took the LSATs for. Gibbs' found out that Mike used to take LSATs in exchange for money but cannot prove it in court. True to his instincts, Mike soon finds out that Gibbs' second chair was the one who gave her an anonymous tip that led Gibbs to talk to the Columbia Law dean.

Mike pays Scottie a visit behind Harvey's back to manipulate her into going after Gibbs but Scottie is not in the mood for Mike's shenanigans as she shuts him down.

Elsewhere, Jack and Jessica had a heart to heart talk in which Jack handed her a document that contains information on what Hardman has on him. Jessica seems to buy Jack's pledge of allegiance as she tells Louis that she is planning to promote Jack. Louis and Jessica argue as she tells Louis to make sure that Sheila will not show up on trial. In response, Louis goes to Sheila and tells her

Scottie drops by Harvey's office and he tells her upfront that their relationship did not end because of Mike. Upon leaving she bumps into Rachel as she tells her that if Mike doesn't go to jail and she gets to be a lawyer, Mike might end up resenting her for the rest of her life because she gets to be the lawyer that he can't be.

At the end of the episode, Donna finds out that the DA's office found out about Trevor and Mike and Harvey barters dropping a malicious prosecution case against Gibbs with the condition that she will not go after Rachel anymore.

Next episode, Donna will duke it out with Gibbs, according to TV Line.
