"Journey 3: From the Earth to the Moon" debuts April 30; Dwayne Johnson, Josh Hutcherson reprise roles

"Journey 3: From the Earth to the Moon" is a follow-up to the family friendly adventure "Journey 2:The Mysterious Island" movie which will soon hit the theatres worldwide starring Dwayne Johnson and Josh Hutcherson.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, New Line Cinema and Walden is planning to produce a third and if schedules permits, a fourth installment of the hit 2012 adventure movie "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island". The third installment is entitled "Journey 3: From the Earth to the Moon" and will star lead actors from the second movie.

Scriptwriter brothers, Carey and Chad Hayes, who wrote the screenplay of the hit horror movie "The Conjuring" will write the scripts for "Journey 3: From the Earth to the Moon". The previous installment has been written by Brian and Mark Gunn. The Hayes brothers have worked with "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" lead actor, Dwayne Johnson in the movie "San Andreas".

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will again be leading the cast of "Journey 3: From the Earth to the Moon". He is said to reprise his role, Hank, a navy code breaker from the second movie installment. According to Slash Film, the movie would look like another Dwayne Johnson franchise due to the fact that Johnson has built a working relationship with the Hayes brothers since "San Andreas".

As reported by Fashion Style, Director Brad Peyton will again direct the third movie installment. He has directed Dwayne Johnson in the movie "San Andreas". He also revealed that when they filmed "Journey 2" and it became a big hit, they already had concepts for the third installment, in addition, he wanted to do the third and fourth installment together. 

Another lead actor who is said to reprise his role from the first and second movie installments is Josh Hutcherson. His role has been in the "Journey to the Center of the Earth" and "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island". His role as Sean has been the nephew of Brendan Fraser's character in the first movie while in the second movie he was Hank's stepson.

With the big box office success of "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" amounting to $335 Million worldwide, producers of "Journey 3: From the Earth to the Moon" will be expecting for a follow-up success. The third movie installment will be released on April 30, 2016.
