The Maryland slaying made famous by the podcast 'Serial' is being re-opened by the lawyers of the murderer, Adnan Syed, after claims that there was a mistake. However, an FBI agent testified that there's manipulation of evidence in this case.

In Yahoo article, Adnan Syed, 35 - year old with a life sentence after proving guilty of murder back in 2000 is trying to have a retrial following claims of his attorneys. Syed was convicted for strangulation of his former ex-girlfriend Hae Min Lee and his attorneys have argued that there are new evidences emerged and questions regarding the fairness of the case. But, on the fourth day of hearing in Baltimore City Circuit Court, FBI agent Chad Fitzgerald also testified against the defense lawyers, marking that they've manipulated the evidence of cell phone records presented on the court last week. He said "I figured what you were doing. I think you got caught in your game," referring to defense lawyer Justin Brown.

In light of the manipulating of evidence Baltimore Sun reported the case. The analyst was an AT&T employee, Abraham Waranowitz, who signed an affidavit saying that he had concerns regarding the reliability of fax cover sheet he's been given regarding the determining of a location from incoming calls. Due to this, the defense lawyers would like to ask for a new trial since the original lawyer, Cristina Gutierrez, was not aware of this detail and would have conducted a new strategy of attack. The defense lawyer, Justin Brown, is asking the reliability regarding two calls made by Syed in Woodlawn and Washington DC which is very impossible to be travelled under 25 minutes.

Further to the news, the family of slayed teenager released a statement following the defense attorneys' effort in the Adnan Syed case. The family issued that they're seeing a horrible case being defended by many while so few are trying to speak up with this murder that destroyed their family. Moreover, in Daily Mail, the family said that "Unlike those who learn about this case on the Internet, we sat and watched every day of both trials - so many witnesses, so much evidence," and turning on an alibi witness of the case, Asia McClain Chapman, who claimed she spoke with Syed on the day that Lee was killed.

The 2000 murder case of Adnan Syed is being tried to reopen by his defense attorneys following that a new evidence have emerged for the case to proceed again. However, an FBI agent stated that there seems to be a manipulation of evidence by the lawyers but the lawyers tried to retract this argument. Lastly, the family of slayed victim released their statement after news surfaced on why many would like to have a retrial for the murderer of Hae Min Lee.
