Lone Star College Stabbing: At Least 14 Wounded, 4 Critically injured, with Suspect in Custody (Photos, Video)

At least 14 people were hurt when a suspect went on a massive stabbing spree at the suburban Houston Lone Star College, authorities said, as reported by NBC News and the Associated Press. The Harris County Sheriff's department confirmed at least 14 people were wounded, and four were taken by medical helicopter in critical condition. All wounds were consistent with stabbing, police said.

"The initial reports said we have two suspects, but what I believe now is it was the same person running from building to building," a police spokesman said at a press conference early afternoon on Tuesday.

Police got the initial reports at about 11:15 a.m, Fox News reported. After the suspect with a knife was reported on the campus, and stabbed numerous victims, the school was placed on lockdown. The suspect was reportedly taken down by a student, Foxnews.com reported.

The suspect is described as a white male, who was seen on campus carrying a stuffed animal, and reportedly told the tackling student "I give, I give," and was then arrested by police, Fox News reported.

Local reports have said that a student in a classroom used an X-ACTO knife, and began to attack other students, and then ran out of the room.

Police are unsure as to the motive of the attack, and by the afternoon on Tuesday, the investigation is still being described as "fluid."

In January, two people were wounded in a shooting at a different Lone Star system campus, which wounded two people. A 22-year-old was charged with aggravated assault.

Photos of the alleged suspect have been posted online.
