Frank John Selas AKA Mr. Wonder Finally Arrested over Sexual Abuse on children After Several Decades

After long decades, the former known TV personality, Frank John Selas known as Mr. Wonder on a local TV show in Louisiana was arrested over the charges of sexual abuse on children. Selas remain hidden from the authorities for 37 years and was finally arrested on his home in San Diego, California.

According to Washington Post, Frank John Selas, 76, lives under a new name, Frank Szeles and new identity. He became a Cub Scouts leader and the old man gives a frequent swimming lesson to young children. Szeles denied before the San Diego judge that his real name is Frank John Selas III.

The former TV host fled out of the country to Brazil back in the year 1979 after authorities from Louisiana obtained a warrant of arrest for him. The Rapides Parish Sheriff officials were convinced that they arrested the right man. California officials also feared that the old man continue to victimized more children, Fox News reported. San Diego Supervisor deputy US Marshal Steve Jurman said, "It's absolutely shocking the level of access that this guy had to children, even now."

Selas moved to California back in the year 1985 and have he changed his last name legally in the year 1992. According to Louisiana investigators the man had lived in different places including in Chicago, Darien, Connecticut, South Royalton, Vermont, and Sheffield, Massachusetts. On Wednesday, Szeles and his wife appeared in court however, they refused to talk with the reporters.  

Marc Carlos, his defense attorney said, Szeles is "well-loved, respected and supported by his family and friends and the community here in San Diego." Szeles was also a former Cub Scouts pack leader in Bonita, however, he vacated his position after failing to comply with the organization's "youth protection policies and procedures," the Boy Scouts of America said.

He was also removed from his position related to children at his Mormon congregation in San Diego after the church also said he failed to comply with the church's "child protection policies, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Utah said. Szeles remain in jail without bail in San Diego and is set to stand in the court in February 11.
