Sharon Stone Sued: Former Maid Sues Actress Over 'Wrongful Termination'

By

Sharon Stone's former maid, Angelica Castillo has filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against the "Basic Instinct" star, contending she was fired because she was injured while carrying groceries, according to CNN.

Castillo's complaint, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday, comes less than a year after Stone's former nanny sued and accused the actress of violating labor laws and making derogatory comments about her ethnicity.

Castillo's lawsuit argues that she suffered severe pain and hurt her back while carrying Stone's groceries in June. A doctor ordered Castillo to not lift heavy objects and was implored to get bed rest. Stone, however, insisted she to return to work, insensitive to her medical concerns, the complaint said.

"Plaintiff was required to perform her regular duties, including but not limited to grocery shopping, lifting and moving heavy items as part of cleaning the residences," the complaint said. "While the plaintiff was still in severe pain, Stone repeatedly yelled at plaintiff for performing her duties more slowly, and called her 'crazy' and 'stupid."

Stone also fired her the same day as this incident, the lawsuit said.

Stone is accused of wrongful termination and failure to provide accommodation for her injury. Stone's lawyer has yet to respond.

Last May, Stone's former nanny filed a lawsuit alleging that in 2010, Stone began subjecting her to slurs about her "Filipino heritage, accent, food and Christian religion." The lawsuit also claimed that Stone requested the woman stop talking to her children so that they would not "talk like you."

A one-time box-office queen with a slew of hits, including "Basic instinct" and "Casino," Stone has lately made infrequent appearances on the TV show "Law and Order."

Her next film, "What About Love" co stars Andy Garcia, and is due out in theaters later this year.
