‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey’ star Teresa Giudice begins post-prison life with probation violation scare

By

Only a couple of weeks after getting out of prison, Teresa Giudice, one of the stars of the reality show "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," almost returned behind bars after a quick run-in with authorities. According to reports, the reality TV star was pulled over by a police officer last week and almost violated her probation curfew.

The incident happened on Thursday as Giudice was returning home from a party. As reported by Inquisitr, she and her daughter, Gia Giudice, attended a red-carpet event for the opening of fellow "Housewives" star Melissa Gorga's fashion boutique in Montclair, New Jersey.

After the event, she hailed an Uber car to take her home but told the driver to drive faster to avoid missing her court-appointed curfew, which is at 10 p.m. However, as the driver sped away, the car was pulled over by a police officer for over speeding.

According to TMZ, as the officer was talking to the Uber driver, Giudice tried to reason with the cop through the car's backseat. She told him about her probation and admitted that she was the one to blame for the driver's road violation.

The site's sources then claimed that the law enforcer immediately recognized who Giudice was. Knowing what she had been through during the past year, the police officer decided to let Giudice and the Uber driver go with only a warning. The star reportedly made it home before her curfew and managed to avoid violating her probation.

Giudice was just released on Dec. 23, 2015 from the Federal Correctional Institution in Danburry, Connecticut. She spent almost a year behind bars after she and her husband pleaded guilty to fraud charges in 2014.

According to the Daily Mail, she and Joe Giudice filed for bankruptcy in 2009 and raked in $11 million in debt. Although the duo dropped their bankruptcy filing in 2011, the government accused them of hiding important information regarding their owned assets and the star's earnings from the reality show.
