Man Stabbed his Athlete Ex-Girlfriend and Another Student in Geneseo, New York before Killing Himself

Deeply upset over the recent break up, a 24-year old man stabbed his ex-girlfriend to death along with her fellow college athlete before taking his own life with the knife he used for killing on Monday. Police reports, the stabbing incident happened on his former lover's apartment located close to the upstate New York College.

According to ABC News, Colin Kingston from Geneseo came over to Kelsey Annese's apartment near the State University of New York at Geneseo in upstate New York around six in the morning on Sunday. Kingston found her together with another student, Mathew Hutchinson, 24 from Vancouver, British Columbia, police reported on Monday.

Kingston, who was also a former student of the school brought a large knife which he had bought recently and killed Annese, 21 and Hutchinson. Police officer, Jeffrey Szczensiak believed that the two may have been sleeping when Kingston killed them.

He also called his father, panickly confessed his murder and threatening to kill himself, moments before he stabbed himself with the knife, NY Daily News reported. Around 6am, the police found the dead bodies in one room and found the large knife at the crime scene.

Kington's father reported his son's crime to the police. He said, his son "called him from an unknown number". He added "he murdered his girlfriend and he's also going to kill himself," according to the recorded audio from the police authorities.

Kelsey Annese is Geneseo's women's basketball team's captain, according to NBC News. Her Athlete bio says, she wore jersey with number 32 for the reason that her father also wore it when he also played for Geneseo. While, Hutchinson, according to his athlete bio, also a player for men's hockey team, the Geneseo Knights.

Denise Battles, the college president said, "It is a profoundly sad day for the college and village of Geneseo. We realize that members of our community will handle this tragedy differently. We will be supplying professional counseling services for Kelsey's teammates."

The deaths of the two students were discovered two days before the beginning of Geneseo's spring semester. The college also decided to cancel the the men's and women's basketball games set for Tuesday. Counseling will be conducted for the students and faculty.
