Cyndy Garvey Sues UCLA Over Tuition Costs; Former Co-Host of The Morning Show Duped by "Bigshots"

By

The former morning show host, Cyndy Garvey has sued UCLA over perceived tuition costs she labeled as too high. The ex-wife of baseball legend Steve Garvey claims she was duped into enrolling in the university's master's program after people connected tot the school told her it would split the costs with her.

Reports say that Garvey was "approached by two UCLA bigshots and asked if she would enroll in a master's program at the UCLA School of Public Health." Initially, she had not shown interest in the program but when one allegedly told her that he knew of a a rich alumnus would pay for half of her Garvey's education because of her "celebrity status," she agreed and went on to graduate in 2009.

Garvey was hit with a $20,000 tax lien claiming she had an unpaid debt to the university. Herattorney Keith Fink filed a suit to the L.A. County Superior Court stipulating that Garvey had never signed on to anything saying she would pay for the schooling.

She is now asking for more than $25,000 from UCLA as a way to "make things right." Garvey has reiterated that she never signed an agreement to pay for her tuition and is seeking damages from UCLA.

Garvey co-hosted "The Morning Show" with Regis Philbin years before working with Kathie Lee and Kelly Ripa.
