Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 Android 6.0 Marshmallow Release Update

Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade has been confirmed rolling out first to newer Samsung smartphones and tablets, and Galaxy Tab S2 is one of the lucky tablets. Over three months now since the company's revelation, Marshmallow is slated for a January release to the unlocked or retail versions of Samsung Galaxy Tab S2.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 devices have been officially announced to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade in the first quarter of 2016. Both the 9.7-inch and 8.0-inch versions are qualified for the said update.

According to the list of estimated time of arrival, Samsung will roll out the Marshmallow build to these 2015 flagship tablets as soon as January along with powerhouse smartphones Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow was also confirmed to roll out to older and mid-range phones like Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S5, Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A7.

Meanwhile, two improvements users will get from Marshmallow involves the lock screen and the home screen.

There are a few tweaks to the lock screen but do not really go far away from the Lollipop version. In lieu of the dialer and the camera shortcuts at the bottom corners, Marshmallow ditches the dialer app with access to voice commands which is more useful.

The home screen with Marshmallow becomes surprisingly minimalist this time. It has lesser things around. Additionally, the search bar is placed on top while a few icons have been induced with vibrant colors. To access Google Now, swipe to the left while other home screen pages can be seen to the right.
