'Captain Marvel' Cast Update: 12 actresses considered for the role of female superhero

By

There are reports that the Captain Marvel movie will be released on 2019 and there are 12 actresses being considered to play the role, with Emily Blunt and Jessica Chastain as the leading choices.

According to Cross Map, Captain Marvel is a female super hero created by Stan Lee in 1987 as a part of his Marvel Universe. Behind the super hero is Carol Danvers, her alter ego. She is an important chapter in the series of blockbuster Marvel movies, since she is the first female character to star in her own movie unlike Black Widow, who still hasn't gotten her own movie.

CP Entertainment reported that there are fan theories speculating that Emily Blunt would play the lead role of the upcoming live action adaptation of the comic book hero. However, the Sicario actress said she hasn't received any notifications to play the role and that she is not familiar with the Captain Marvel, or any other comic book characters.

Jessica Chastain is also speculated to play the role. About playing a comic book character, she said, "Absolutely, but for me, in any genre of film that you do - I want to be part of it, So if I'm doing a superhero film, I want to wear a costume, I want a fight scene, I don't want to be the girlfriend or the civilian that's taking care of superheroes or whatever. I want to be part of the action. So if they came a-calling that sounds very cool."

Youth Health Mag wrote that the rest of the actresses considered to star as the lead role of the new Marvel Universe movie are Sienna Miller, Bryce Dallas Howard, Charlize Theron, Rebecca Ferguson, Katheryn Winnick, Maika Monroe, Natalie Dormer, Katee Sackhoff, Olivia Wilde, and Ronda Rousey.

Most of these actresses reacted positively to the possibility of starring as the super heroine. The movie will be out on March 2019.
