French Alps Shooting: Al-Hilli Neighbors Allowed to Return Home Post Bomb Squead Investigation

By

According to the Telegraph.Uk, the British have cleared the Al-Hilli house, and French bomb-squad has cleared of any bombs or explosives and allowed neighbors to return to their homes on Monday.

Monday morning, according to the Telegraph.UK, residents within two streets' vicinity were asked to evacuate for a "bomb disposal unit assessment," reports initially suggested "potentially explosive substance," but later residents were allowed to return to their homes.

Last week, members of the Al-Hilli family were shot to death. Saad and Ikbal Al-Hili, the couple were killed as well as Ikbal's 74-year-old mother. The shooter shot the Ikbal's two daughters, two and seven, both of whom survived the incidence. A French cyclist, Sylvain Mollier, was also shot to death.

The two survivors were the daughters Zeena, 4 and Zainab, 7. Zeena was unharmed, but her older sister suffered head wounds and a gunshot to the shoulder. On Sunday, Zainab came out of coma and is still recovering. Both girls remain under police protection.

Authorities have neither information of the shooter nor any clue of motive. CNN news says that the investigators have not ruled out the possibility of robbery. However, reports show that each victim was shot twice in the head - execution style.

One French prosecutor told CNN that the incident was of "unheard-of savagery." The French and British authorities are both involved in the investigation. There are talks about the Italian as well as the Swiss police assisting in the investigation.

The Al-Hilli was an Iraqi-British family, who were visiting France for a camping trip when the incident took place.
