Firm Shines in The American Lawyer's 2012 Corporate Scorecard

Latham & Watkins received 28 Top 10 rankings and improved its placements in 10 categories across a range of corporate and finance categories in The American Lawyer's 2012 Corporate Scorecard, an annual review ranking law firms that advised on transactions during the previous year.

The firm’s stellar results were highlighted by two #1 rankings for US initial public offerings, leading law firms advising both issuers (10 offerings) and underwriters (14 offerings) by deal volume. The firm also ranked #1 in advising issuers of high yield debt by deal volume (37 offerings) and topped the chart for advising issuers in real estate investment trust (REIT) debt offerings (5 offerings). The M&A and private equity practices of the firm made strong showings across several categories, including a #2 ranking for advising the principals to 94 M&A deals during 2011 and a #3 ranking for advising on 13 private equity deals by volume. The firm was also ranked in a number of categories for equities (non-IPO), corporate debt, project finance, and bankruptcy matters.
