The premiere for "Chicago Fire" season 3 is just around the corner and new spoilers are revealing possible plots for the upcoming episodes.

According to Christian Post, executive producer Matt Olmstead has shared to TV Guide about their plans for season 3.

"Casey has chosen to continue on with his injury that could, down the road, rear its ugly head for sure. But in light of the devastation of this collapse, it puts into perspective what he has in terms of counting your blessings, essentially. It could always be worse," Olmstead said.

The site added that the producer previously hinted of a possible love triangle in the new season. According to him, Severide will stay with Lindsay, but fireworks will continue to spark between Lindsay and her partner Halmstead.

However, Halmstead will not be the only one getting in the way of the Severide and Lindsay love story. According to Deadline, "Graceland" actress Serinda Swan is set to join the cast of "Chicago Fire."

Swan will be playing Brittany Baker, a graphic designer who will be a potential love interest to Severide.

Season 3 will also possibly reveal the death of a character, after the cliffhanger finale of season 2.

The finale episode ended by showing the Firehouse 51 firefighters going into a burning building and a big explosion then happened.

Last July, Olmstead confirmed that someone, indeed, will be gone from the series. "Someone has to die. [And] someone does," Olmstead told TVLine.

Fans are now actively speculating on whose character will not be able to come out alive from the building.

Meanwhile, TVLine reported that the survivors will be going through rough time, following the catastrophic event.

"A lot of ramifications in terms of not everybody makes it, and those who do make it, their lives take some turns because of it," teased Olmstead according to TVLine.

"Chicago Fire" Season 3 is set to hit television screens on September 23.
