After a year of the much-publicized break up of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, the "Twilight" actor has finally spoken about the split.

Pattinson shared to "Esquire UK" his true feelings on what happened to his relationship with Stewart.

"The hardest part was talking about it afterwards." he added. "Because when you talk about other people, it affects them in ways you can't predict," revealed the actor, adding "It's like that scene in Doubt [2008, in which Philip Seymour Hoffman plays a priest suspected of inappropriate behaviour], where he's talking about how to take back gossip? They throw all those feathers from a pillow into the sky and you've got to go and collect all the feathers."

The ex-couple broke up after Stewart was photographed kissing "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders while she was still in a relationship with Pattinson.

Although the actress publicly apologized for her actions, the then couple had an on-and-off relationship before finally calling it quits in May 2013.

Apparently, the actor has forgiven Stewart's infidelity and even regarded it as normal.

"Sh-t happens, you know? It's just young people . . . it's normal! And honestly, who gives a sh-t?" Pattinson laughingly told Esquire.

However, despite the scandal that involved them, the two Hollywood stars remained friends even after their break up.

According to Hollywood Life, Stewart reportedly had a hand in helping Pattinson land a role in Olivier Assayas new film "Idol's Eye."

An insider told the site that the actress wants to help make Pattinson's dream come true. That is to work with Academy Award winner Robert de Niro who will be starring in the film.

"Kristen talked to Olivier non-stop about how committed Rob is as an actor and as a result he basically got the role in his pocket. Kristen knew how much he wanted to work with Bobby [Robert Deniro]," the source revealed to the site.

Stewart worked with Assayas in the film "Clouds of Sils Maria" that will be released in December.
