As "Star Trek 3" is lined up for the big screen in 2016, lead star Zachary Quinto dishes out spoilers about the third installment of the classic movie's rebooted franchise.

Playing the role of Spock in the latest "Star Trek" franchise, Quinto told audiences of the Television Critics Press Tour that the upcoming installment of the film will walk around a five-year mission. Narrated in the opening of "Star Trek: The Original Series," the aforementioned mission involves exploring strange new worlds, seeking for new life and new civilizations, and boldly going to places in space where no man has been before.

"I think the five-year mission will be a part of this next film in some way," said Quinto as he promoted "The Chair," his new Starz documentary series. "It is inherently an on-going story, but I do think that we will feel some sense of evolution in these characters that has been building through the first few films.

The said quest to explore unchartered space is a task assigned to Starfleet starship in the original "Star Trek" series.

Quinto is also confident that "Star Trek" director Roberto Orci will adhere to the original plot of the film as he describes him as a "purist" with regards to the "Trek" story.

In related news, Orci reveals that Paramount Pictures has not yet officially slated him as the director of the 2016 installment.
