The sequel of the box office hit, zombie-themed movie, "World War Z" is reported to be postponed, as the movie's lead actor Brad Pitt is set to shoot a new film with his fiancée, "Maleficent" star Angelina Jolie.

The second installment of the movie was initially slated to hit the silver screen on the summer of 2015. However, Paramount Pictures has not released an official statement about the confirmed date of the sequel.

Reports suggest that the sequel of the top-grossing thriller film will be under the direction of Juan Antonio Bayona, the director of award-winning films "The Orphanage" and "The Impossible," replacing the former "World War Z" director Marc Forester.

Plan B Entertainment and "World War Z" forefront Brad Pitt as well as Paramount Pictures are allegedly having difficulties in bringing the movie back to the big screen, as they were unable to discuss with ex-WWZ director Marc Forester about where the sequel will pick up from.

Joining the new "World War Z" director is Steven Knight who will write the second installment of the film. Knight is the one the brilliant minds behind the TV series, "The Eastern Promises" and "The Detectives."

With the newly ordained director and writer, the production team of WWZ is doing everything to enrich the story of the film in order to be at par with its first release. "We have so many ideas on the table," said Pitt in a video chat interview with Variety. "We think we have a lot of stuff to mine from. We're going to do our best and see what we get out of it."

Moviegoers and spectators are expecting the film to highlight the re-surge of the presumed eradicated zombies. The end of the first installment wherein Pitt's character said that the war against the undead has simply begun steers the views to anticipate another heart-stopping battle against the plague of flesh-eating creatures.
