A North Carolina man has made and published a video in the hopes of curbing child deaths from leaving them in a hot car. The video by Terry Williams showed him inside a hot car and showing YouTube viewers how uncomfortable it is for a fully-grown fit man to sit in a hot car even with the windows open.

Williams, who is visibly dripping in sweat while facing the camera, said that he had challenged himself to sit in a closed car to know how children left alone in vehicles would feel as temperatures outside hit 90 degrees on the day of filming.

USA Today said the body temperature of a child can increase from three to five times faster than an adults. This translates to the fact that leaving a child alone in a car for a few minutes, even with the air-conditioning open, could be fatal.

It has been believed that the temperatures inside Williams' car at the time of filming could have reached 130 degrees upwards.

"As you can see, I'm sweating, like I can barely breathe out here, but my system is stronger than these little kids systems. This is not a game, this is serious."

William's video plea followed the ongoing case of involving the death of 22 month-old Cooper Harris, who has been found dead by his dad Justin Ross in the car after purportedly forgetting him in the car seat on June 18, Daily Mail said. However, authorities had reason to believe that the married father had the intention of leaving his son in the car. It has been discovered in his social media posts that Harris had researched hot car deaths, and had engaged in sexting with a slew of women.

On the other hand, Harris' case shed light on the increase in the number of child casualties due to being left alone in cars. Cooper's death would be the 13th case in the US this year and the sixth one this month, the Los Angeles Times reported.
