NBA News: Buddy Hield Trade Leads Pelicans to Work Out Mario Chalmers and More

The New Orleans Pelicans stroked a deal with the Sacramento Kings and they recently acquired the center DeMarcus Cousins. It was a blockbuster trade with the Kings on Monday and now they are all set to test out Mario Chalmers, Reggie Williams, Quinn Cook and Hollis Thomson.

The Pelicans seemed to have acquired one the league's best frontcourts, Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins looks like a good combination for them. But on the other hand they certainly need to strengthen their production from the backcourt. This is a long way to go for the team, with 25 games to play for the eight spot in the western conference; they are 2.5 games behind the Denver Nuggets.

At this moment it is only Jrue Holiday the team's guard, who is averaging double figures in scoring. Looking at the position of the front office they had to sacrifice in that area to bring in DeMarcus. In order to acquire DeMarcus Buddy Hield, Langston Galloway and Tyreke Evans were part of the deal as per Bleacher Report.

Mario Chalmers has a wealth of big game experience; the 30 year old Kansas NBA superstar is the most well known name from the group. Winning two NBA championships during his time with the Miami Hear has only made it better for him.

According to Amico Hoops, there are only two days until the NBA trade deadline. The Cleveland Cavaliers are aggressively approaching the trade market before the deadline. Apparently the Cavs General Manager David Griffin is searching for trades that would fit in their $4.4 million exception created last season.

Chalmers is all set to do anything and he has been on the court for the last three months working on getting back.  The Pelicans have acquired some good power forwards and center, including Terrence Jones, Alex Ajinca and Omer Asik.
