Given its size, the game can't be stored on the Nintendo Switch if the game is downloaded digitally. Gamers will have to purchase a separate memory card to expand the console's internal memory of purchase a physical copy of the game in order to play it.

Meanwhile, other games for the Nintendo Switch need far less memory required in order to be installed. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild comes in at 13.4 GB and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will require 7 GB of memory.

Other less demanding games for the Nintendo Switch like Disgaea 5 need 5.92 GB and Nobunaga's Ambition need 5 GB of storage. Smaller games like Snipperclips: Cut it Out, Together! will need 1.60 GB, I Am Setsuna will require 1.40 GB and Puyo Puyo Tetris needs 1.09 GB of internal memory.

Nintendo Switch games from physical copies do not require an install so these memory requirements only apply to digital purchases as reported by IGN. But with games like Dragon Heroes 1-2, buyers may need to consider purchasing an additional memory card to expand the console's limited internal memory.

Buying an additional memory card is more applicable for gamers that will primarily download their games instead of buying the physical copies. It is also necessary for gamers who plan to play a lot of indie and virtual console games as they are mostly available through downloads.
