The Pound has weakened considerably due to the Brexit vote and has caused companies to adjust their prices to adjust to the deficit. Microsoft will now be among to increase their prices on their devices particularly, the Microsoft Surface.

Engadget reports that Microsoft will be planning to increase their prices by up to 22 percent at the start of the year. The price increase has already started to take effect as evidenced by Microsoft's online store starting with the Microsoft Surface.

TechCrunch says that the Microsoft Surface Book is now priced £150 more than its initial price. The top of the line version with a Core i7 processor is now £400 more expensive. It had a 15 percent increase from £2,469 to £3,049.

The Surface Book is already an expensive device which is actually more expensive than a full sized laptop with more capabilities. The price increase only adds to the tablet's high entry point which will only drive more potential buyers away from purchase.

It is unclear which Microsoft devices will have price increases and by how much. The company also isn't sharing a complete list of the products affected by the price increase. But it is certain that more will follow the Microsoft Surface Book's increase.

Microsoft's official statement regarding the issue states that upon reviewing the effects of the Brexit as well as the British Pound, the company has decided that it will be adjusting the prices of some of their products in order to align with the market dynamics. The changes will only affect products and services purchased by individuals or organizations without volume licensing contracts and will be effective from Feb 15 onwards. It would be wise then to look for better alternatives for the Microsoft Surface.

Microsoft and the Microsoft Surface aren't the only tech companies who made changes in their prices. Sonos, HTC, Apple among other will soon have adjustments in their prices.
