Not only one but three iPad variants are expected to be unveiled in March this year. The Cupertino-based firm is en route to making a splash on its tablet roster, a much-needed boost to its line-up that hasn't been updated for quite some time.

Technobuffalo reported that Apple Inc may be unveiling three iPad models on March 2017 at the annual Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. These iPads include a refreshed 9.7-inch variant, a 12.9-inch iPad Pro along with a brand new 10.5-inch iPad. Moreover, it is speculated that the largest 12.9-inch version will be the one to get refreshed the soonest.

The launching of Apple's newest iPad couldn't be more beneficial for the company as its iconic line-up has suffered declining sales as of late. In the company's recent earnings report, iPads' year-over-year sales have decreased by 19 percent while its revenue fell by 22 percent. Nevertheless, Apple CEO Tim Cook has still remained faithful to the roster as there is still a lot to be done and improved on with the upcoming models.

In related news, the new iPad variants are also expected to be launched alongside Apple Pencil 2. According to MacWorld UK, a source from one of Apple's supply chains has shared that the second generation Apple Pencil is slated to be launched with the new iPad Pro 2 in March.

The next generation Apple Pencil 2 is speculated to come with a magnet that can get attached to the new version of iPad, similar to Microsoft's Surface Pro models. Meanwhile, the next Apple Pencil is also expected to have a clip on its side akin to some traditional pens. This feature will prevent the accessory from rolling away across the nearest table or surface. On the other hand, the clip will also allow the pen to be attached to the user's pocket.

Apple Pencil's first generation was launched alongside the 12.9-inc iPad Pro last Sept. 2015. It featured pressure sensitivity and angle detection along with a Bluetooth device that can communicate with the screen and the iPad's system simultaneously.
