"The Nun" is a spin-off film from "The Conjuring 2" and is to be directed by Corin Hardy. The film focuses on the nun that came to life from a painting in the original film.

According to Variety, New Line cinema is moving on with the spin-off for "The Conjuring 2." In fact, the spin-off film has been in development since June 2016. The development for the spin-off started right after the airing of the original film.

It can be recalled that the demon nun from the film "The Conjuring 2" came to life from a painting. The painting is owned by the paranormal investigator Ed Warren (Patrick Wilson). The nun later on attacked Lorraine Warren (Vera Farmiga).

A report in Deadline indicates that "The Nun" is a second spin-off from "The Conjuring" franchises. The first spin-off film was "Annabelle" that was taken from the first franchise. Annabelle is reported to have a sequel this year.

This is the next film that Hardy is to direct. He is waiting to be on board for The Crow's remake. "The Conjuring 2's" spin-off "The Nun" is another work that Hardy is to undertake. Hardy has worked with "The Hallow" and a short animated film the "Butterfly." He also did some directing for music artists' videos. These artists include, Ed Sheeran, Biffy Clyro, Keane, Prodigy and paolo Nutini.

"The Nun" takes on a character of a nun in "The Conjuring 2" that has been haunting Lorraine Warren.The idea of the character in "The Conjuring 2" came in three months of the film's development according to a report in Empire. The nun is portrayed by Bonnie Aaron.

The spin-off for "The Conjuring 2" is written by Gary Dauberman and James Wan. The film will show more demonic acts from the nun and will continue to haunt Warren as the story moves along.
