'Split' News & Update: M. Night Shyamalan Hints Film Sequel, Crosses Over With 'Unbreakable'

"Split" is a thriller by M. Night Shyamalan and is on top of the charts on its third week. As early as now, Shyamalan has hinted that the film is to have its sequel.

According to a report in The Wrap, "Split" has been a box-office for three consecutive weeks. It got $14.6 million in 3,373 locations. The film stars James McAvoy who is a person that has 23 personalities. His character kidnapped three teenagers.

"Split" reached up to $40 million on its first week of airing. This has been the second film by Shyamalan that reached to the top of the charts aside from "The Sixth Sense." The film is also the first from Universal to hold the top spot for three consecutive weeks since "Straight Outa Compton" in 2015.

A report in Comic Book indicates that Shyamalan already hints that h is working on a sequel for "Split." He also hints that he would like to reach a sequel to the movie Unbreakable and establish something on what Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson already had.

There is no specific date on when Shyamalan will do the next film. However, it is indicated that he is back with "Split" that made it to the top. This film that Shyamalan is hinting t is surely a follow-up on his latest film "Split."

Meanwhile, a report in Cinema Blend indicates that the ending of "Split" already hints what Shyamalan is working at. Shyamalan further hints that he also would like to explore on David Dunn and what the character has been up to. It seems that the ending had a crossover of the film with the "Unbreakable."

Shyamalan is working on the next fil and after "Split's" success that may be a possibility. A villain and a hero is already in the works with James McAvoy's character and David Dunn's character. Fans may expect some more from Shyamalan.
