The NBA trade deadline is just a few weeks away and teams are already scrambling to get deals done. One of those teams is the New York Knicks. The Cleveland Cavaliers, according to sources, still have interest in acquiring Carmelo Anthony. The Cavaliers are intrigued with the possibility of Anthony teaming up with LeBron James. The Cavaliers are willing to acquire Anthony without giving up Kevin Love.

Just last week, the New York Knicks have approached the Cleveland Cavaliers about a possible trade for Kevin Love. The Cavaliers have rejected the Knicks offer, according to a report from ESPN. This, however, did not deter the New York Knicks as the franchise continues to pursue Love.

Aside from the Cleveland Cavaliers, other teams that the New York Knicks have talked to include the Los Angeles Clippers and the Boston Celtics. The Knicks and the Celtics haven't gone beyond exploratory talks. Even if the Celtics would gain some star power with the acquisition of Carmelo Anthony, it still doesn't address the Celtics' biggest needs on defense and rebounding.

The Los Angeles Clippers, like the Cleveland Cavaliers, are interested with Carmelo Anthony. Most of the discussions with the Clippers focus on involving a third or fourth team because of the complexities involved in trading for Carmelo Anthony.

One major complication is Carmelo Anthony's contract. If ever a trade for Anthony is completed, his contract has a 15 percent trade kicker, which would add in an extra $9.6 million on to the remaining value of his contract and the Clippers are hard-capped this season.

Another major complication is the Los Angeles Clippers Jamal Crawford. The New York Knicks are hesitant in taking on the contract of Crawford, who is due $14.2 million in 2017-18 and is guaranteed at least $4 million of his scheduled $14.5 million in 2018-19.
