The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro could be utilizing some Android Nougat features in the future since the Note 4 is still in the 6.0 version.

It wouldn't be much of a surprise if Xiaomi decides to upgrade their popular Redmi Note 3 model. After all, the succeeding Note 4 model came out with similar albeit slightly lower specs than the Note 3.

This is specially true when it comes to the camera of both devices. According to Gadgets360, the Note 4 has downgraded from the Note 3 in terms of the rear camera's megapixel count.

The Note 4 sports a lower 13 megapixel camera compared to Note 3's 16 megapixels. Front cameras on both models remain unchanged at 5 megapixels.

Aside from the camera, there's also some small changes in the aesthetic department. The Note 4 has a more refined look, but the visual changes weren't too significant.

When it comes to performance, the Redmi Note 4 gets a slight upgrade as it comes with a Snapdragon 625 chipset with 2GHz octa-core. The Note 4's operating system is also upgraded to Android Marshmallow 6.0 from Note 3's Lollipop 5.1 version.

Although the Note 3 eventually received the 6.0 Marshmallow update, both models still aren't utilizing Android's latest 7.0 Nougat version. This is where the talks about a newly upgraded Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro comes in.

According to GSMArena, the Chinese tech company is prepping to release an upgraded Redmi Note 3 Pro that comes with Android's latest 7.1 Nougat version. The discovery of a benchmark test result suggests that Xiaomi is gearing up for Android version 7.1.1 which might come out with the rumored Note 3 Pro.

However, there isn't any official word from the global tech company so this might just be mere speculation for now. Regardless, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 still remains as one of the most popular phones based on the amount of units sold, alone.
