In these trying times for Brazilian football player Neymar, it's good to know that his team is with him all the way throughout his ordeal.  Neymar's Spanish football team FC Barcelona is seeking a probe regarding the latest issue on one of its star players. 

According to a report from ESPN, club sources have confirmed that Neymar's team, FC Barcelona, have called for an investigation regarding the leaked footage of Neymar appearing in court in February of last year.  The video shows Neymar giving his testimony in court. 

Several videos of Neymar was released on Thursday by Spanish newspaper El Confidencial.  This infuriated FC Barcelona and the team was so upset that they have asked Judge Jose de la Mata, the judge that's presiding Neymar's case, to look into how those video footages got into the hands of the media.

Neymar, 24, appeared in court last year to testify regarding the investigation of the alleged regularities of his transfer to Barcelona from Brazilian club Santos back in 2013.  Neymar testified before Judge Jose de la Mata.

When Neymar transferred to Barcelona from Santos, Brazilian investment company DIS complained about the irregularities.  DIS claimed that they were undercut by Neymar's transfer.

DIS owned 40 percent of Neymar's rights at the time.  The investment company is therefore entitled to 40 percent of Neymar's transfer from Santos.  DIS said that they received a smaller compensation because part of the transfer fee was concealed.

Prosecutors are looking for a two-year prison sentence and a €10 million fine for Neymar, as previously reported by ESPN.  They are also seeking the same sentence and fine for Neymar's father and former FC Barcelona president Sandro Rosell, who is facing an additional three years for fraud charges.

DIS, on the other hand, has demanded a five-year sentence for Neymar and his father and an eight- year sentence for Sandro Rosell and current FC Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu.  The company also seeks a fine from FC Barcelona that could reach more than €200 million and wants Neymar, if found guilty, to be suspended from playing.
