Following the huge news that the Knicks offered Carmelo Anthony in exchange for Kevin Love, more trade rumours for the all-star forward surface. It would appear that Phil Jackson, the General Manager of the Knick, and the rest of the team are seriously looking to trade Melo before the nearing trade deadline. Cleveland may have rejected the trade offer, but other teams might jump at the chance to have a player like Melo in their roster.

Even though Melo has been the Knick's franchise player for a few years, it maybe time for him to accept the inevitable.. Yahoo Sports sources say that the Celtics and the Clippers were both contacted by the Knicks to see if they had interest in trading for Melo. This shows a possible direction the Knicks want to take as their sophomore player Kristaps Porzingis is showing much potential. However, this must be done before the Feb. 23 trade deadline, or otherwise, teams would have to wait for the end of the season to make trades.

Carmelo Anthony has openly expressed his desire to stay in New York but is helpless to the decision of the management. This is because, as per the Business Insider, Melo does not hold any trade-clause that would allow him to reject a potential trade and stay in New York. So if a trade was made that sent him to the worst team in the NBA, he would not be able to veto it.

The Knicks started of this season with much promise as they went 14-10 their first few games. Since Christmas, they have completely turned things around, winning only 4 of their last 18 games and falling to 20-27.  They are currently 11^th in the Eastern Conference, and have a chance to still make it to the playoffs. Knicks fans will be watching for any trade news about Melo as their teams rebuilds to become a legitimate championship contender.
