President-elect Donald Trump's advising law firm, "Morgan, Lewis and Bockius," just won the 2016 Law Firm of The Year Award from Russia.
In a press conference, the firm confirmed the announcement of the award adding that this honor was acknowledged in the Chambers & Partners' 2016 Chambers Europe guide. The firm's website shows the staffing at their Moscow office and it employs 40 lawyers who make it big in the Russian market.
The firm states that these lawyers "have deep familiarity with the local legislation, practices and key players." This news comes one day before Trump openly refused having any ties with the Russians during a press conference quotes TIME.
The President-elect also reiterated that statement in a tweet on his personal Twitter account. The tweet reads "Russia has never tried to use leverage over me." Trump also said that he had "nothing to do with Russia, no deals, no loans, no nothing."
With less than a week left for the President-elect to take his seat at the White House, there is a lot of speculation regarding whether he can perform his job well. The contradictory claims he made that surfaced after his advising law firm won the award is proof of his inefficiency.
According to Fortune, in regards to the conflicting statements, Sherri Dillon, from Morgan Lewis and Bockius spoke up and cleared the air. Sherri is stated to have said Trump intends to hand over governance of his company to both his eldest sons as well as an executive who has been with him for a long time.
When asked about the conflicting statements, a spokeswoman for Morgan Lewis and Mockius refused to give any comments.
Sherri might think that the President-elect's sons running their father's business does not sound like collusion but the rest of us are not so easy to fool.
