'Fast 8' Actor Vin Diesel Sued by Producer Over 'xXx: The Return of Xander Cage' Film

A film producer is suing actor Vin Diesel, alleging the actor owed him a cut of the latest installment of the film xXx. The said producer was once became part of the action star's production company One Race Films.

According to the court documents filed on Tuesday, at the Los Angeles Superior Court by film producer, George Zakk against Diesel, he claimed the actor owed him $275,000, The Wrap reported. His original deal with Diesel entitles him to between $250k to $275k also includes producer's credit on each of his films, the lawsuit states.

The producer also said that though their working relationship ended in 2007, the deal still included sequels that he helped to develop for Vin Diesel, which the actor also starred in and produced. Zakk's lawsuit alleges breach of oral contract and breach of implied in fact contract.

Aside from the owed money, Zakk also seeks unspecified amount for damages. The third installment, "xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage" is set to be release in January next year in theaters, according to Comic Book. The actor has not yet responded to the legal complaint.

The Cinema Blend also reported that actor Samuel L. Jackson will reprise his role Agent Augustus Gibbons, along with the other casts, Tony Jaa, Deepika Padukone, Nina Dobrev, Ruby Rose, Toni Collette, Kris Wu, Ariadna Gutierrez, Michael Bisping, and Tony Gonzalez.

The main plot centers a former extreme sports athlete Xander "XXX" Cage, notorious for his death-defying public stunts. Xander is recruited by NSA Agent, Gibbons, played by Samuel L. Jackson, to become a different kind of undercover agent.

Diesel recently post updates regarding his film shoot for Fast 8 in Cuba. The filming is considered as the first American film to be shot in the Caribbean island nation. The Fast and Furious 8 is scheduled for release on April 17, it also stars Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Eva Mendes, Kurt Russell, Jason Statham, Charlize Theron and Scott Eastwood.
