Dana Stubblefield's Wife Files for Divorce Following Former NFL Star's Rape Allegations

The wife of former San Francisco 49ers Dana Stubblefield filed for divorce following the alleged sexual assault of her husband. The divorce filing came a week before investigators began to interrogate the defensive lineman star.
According to TMZ, Terry Stubblefield filed on the 29th of February in the Santa Clara County family court, seeking to end their marriage of 7 years. On her filing, she cited that she and the former NFL star have "irreconcilable differences".
John Conway filed the divorce documents on behalf of Terry, writing 17th of February as the couple's date of separation. Terri and Dana Stubblefield have two children, ages 1 and 4-years old. She also seeks for full legal and physical custody of their children, but with spousal support and visitation rights for her husband.
On Monday, Dana Stubblefield, 45-years old, was charged for raping a woman with mental disability, whom he contacted for a babysitting job interview to his Morgan Hill home in April last year, Mail Online reported. The victim, 31-years old, went to his home to talk about her job on babysitting his children.
According to the prosecutors, she reported the crime to Morgan Hill Police right after the alleged rape happened. Stubblefield reportedly gave the victim $80 after the incident. However, the alleged sexual assault case investigation only started on March 2016.
"This was a crime of violence against a vulnerable victim. She was looking for a job and she was unconscionably assaulted," deputy district attorney Tim McInerny said.
Stubblefied, who is already booked in jail, denied raping the victim. "I am completely innocent of all these allegations," he said during a press conference, KRON4 reported. However, he acknowledged having sexual relations with the woman and insisted it as consensual.
"Mr. Stubblefield is being targeted for his celebrity status, and this defense team is not gonna let it happen," Gary Winuk, his defense lawyer stated. The three-time Pro Bowler faces five felony counts in connection to the rape and his bail has been set at $250,000.
