27-year-old Kourosh Keshmiri, a convicted drunk driver who allegedly crashed a car into a California home on Sunday killing Ken Jackson while sleeping, was charged with murder on Monday, as reported by CBS Los Angeles. The Mission Viejo resident is being held on $1 million bail and is scheduled for arraignment on Tuesday.

Keshmiri " was booked Sunday for felony drunken driving with a prior conviction. He also faces charges in a separate case from June 2013," CBS Los Angeles also reported. Keshmiri "faces a prior misdemeanor count each of driving under the influence of alcohol... driving with a blood alcohol leavel of .08 percent or more with a prior and sentencing enhancements and allegations for having a blood alcohol level over .15 percent and having a prior DUI conviction from 2010. He is scheduled to appear in court " CBS Los Angeles also reported.

Keshmiri had been charged earlier this year with driving on a suspended license, which was cited as a misdemeanor. He was put on three years of informal probation in 2010. He was "ordered to participate in an alcohol program for first offenders, according to court records," according to CBS Local.

"Keshmiri is alleged to have lost control of the car before it jumped the curb and vaulted into the home. Its rear tires were still in the air when rescuers arrived," as reported by Orange County Weekly.

"Orange County sheriff's Lt. Jeff Hallock said there there were two other men inside the Cadillac with Keshmiri. Both suffered minor injuries and required no medical attention," as reported by CBS Local.

Keshmiri reportedly faces up to 15 years to life imprisonment, according to news reports.
