A school bus collided with a dump truck Thursday morning at a rural Idaho intersection, killing an 11-year-old boy and injuring four other children, The Associated Press reported. 

Daniel Robert Cook died of blunt force trauma sustained in the 8 a.m. crash, which happened on a two-lane country road about 20 miles west of Boise, according to Canyon County Coroner Vicki DeGeus-Morris said.

Of the four children taken to the hospital, "two were released after treatment and two others were transported to another facility for specialized care. Details on their injuries were not immediately available," The AP also reported.

The bus driver also was taken to a hospital for monitoring, according to the Idaho State Police.

The bus was carrying 12 children to Crimson Point Elementary School "when the crash occurred in an area of small farms between Nampa and Kuna, a town of 16,000 on the edge of the Snake River Canyon. The truck driver was uninjured," The AP also reported.

State Police investigators remain determined to find  what exactly happened and who might be at fault, as reported by The AP.
