The upcoming primaries in Indiana, New Mexico, and Oregon will be crucial. Senator Ted Cruz and Ohio Governor John Kasich are planning to stop presidential frontrunner Donald Trump from winning the said event.

As reported by Time, Ted Cruz's campaign manager, Jeff Roe, said they will ensure the nomination of a Republican that will unify the party and will have a clear winner in November. He added that their campaign will focus in Indiana to make a clear path for Governor Kasich to have a chance to compete in Oregon and New Mexico and hopes that their allies will also do the same thing.

Kasich's camp has also issued the same statement saying they will shift their campaign resources west in order to give Ted Cruz's campaign a clear path in Indiana.

The ever increasing number of Trump supporters prompted the move in order to stop Trump from reaching the 1,237 delegates which is needed to win the GOP presidential nomination. The presidential frontrunner, however, is expected to perform well in a string of Northeast states which include vote-rich state Pennsylvania. Experts, on the other hand, think that Trump will not be able to get enough delegates before the July convention.

According to New York Times, the May 3 primaries in Indiana will be critical to Ted Cruz's chances in keeping Trump just beneath the required number of delegates for the nomination. The importance of Indiana's votes has been the focus of Cruz who hosted several events in the state.

Kasich, on the other hand, said he is placing his hopes in Oregon and New Mexico. These are the two known states in which Kasich has a demographic advantage and has been the preference of centrist voters as per Huffington Post.

Trump, however, lashed back at Cruz and Kasich. The flamboyant presidential candidate said it is sad to see two grown politicians gang up against a person who has only been a politician for 10 months in an attempt to stop that person from getting the Republican nomination.
