A nurse died and four people were injured on Tuesday in a stabbing at a Longview Texas medical complex, which a hospital official called an isolated case, as reported by The Associated Press reported. Police detained suspect 22-year-old Kyron Rayshawn Templeton after the stabbings, which occurred around 7 a.m. at the Ambulatory Surgical Center of Good Shepherd Medical Center.

The slain nurse was identified as Gail Sandidge, according to the hospital's CEO Steve Altmiller.

"The Good Shepherd family tragically lost a member of our team... All of the victims were taken to the emergency center for assessment and treatment. This was an isolated incident that was diligently handled by the Longview Police Department and our Good Shepherd response team," said Altmiller.

"Gregg County Jail booking records show that... Templeton has been charged with four counts of aggravated assault. His bond has been set at $2.6 million," The AP reported.

Templeton, who went on the knife-slashing rampage, tried to flee on foot but was caught and arrested near the hospital.
