The Expendables franchise is headed for another round in the yet to be officially titled The Expendables 4. Although official roster of the cast has not been revealed yet, several names have been linked to the project hinting at the introduction of several new villains for the film.

Due to a piracy incident, the performance of The Expendables 3 upon its release was majorly affected. However, as reported by City On Fire, franchise star Sylvester Stallone promised to bring more violence in the upcoming film thus getting back to its roots. "If I do another one it's going to be a lot bloodier... hardcore R." Stallone said.

"I believe it was a horrible miscalculation on everyone's part in trying to reach a wider audience, but in doing such, diminish the violence that the audience expects. I'm quite certain it won't happen again." He added.

Furthermore, several names have also been linked to the film although the official cast is yet to be anno Per Day Herald Hulk Hogan has been associated with a villain role following his revelation that he was previously contacted by Stallone for a role.

Moreover, Dwayne Johnson was also rumored to appear in the film after he expressed his interest in playing a villain role in the movie. Steve Austin is also highly speculated to return in the franchise after his performance in Expendables 1.

Plot details for the upcoming fourth film are still being kept tight under wraps. However, as reported by Ecumenical News, filming for the upcoming flick is expected to begin in fall as revealed by  The Arnold Fans on Twitter which quoted actor Randy Couture.

As of yet, no other actors have been officially confirmed to join or return for the upcoming The Expendables 4. More details about the flick will be revealed as it begins production. It is currently slated to hit theaters some time in 2017.
