'X-Men: Apocalypse' is an upcoming superhero film directed by Bryan Singer. New posters reveal two opposing teams of superheroes versus supervillains. One poster, named 'Defend', highlights Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence over new and returning mutants. The other complimenting poster, named 'Destroy', is headed by Apocalypse and features his Four Horsemen.

According to Entertainment Weekly, new posters for Bryan Singer's highly anticipated 'X-Men' sequel have recently been released. One poster features Professor X and his team of mutants while another shows Apocalypse and his supervillains.

James McAvoy returns as Charles Xavier a.k.a. Professor X, the founder of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters and leader of a group of exceptional mutants. The new poster, named 'Defend', included younger versions of recurring characters including Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops and Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler.

The 'Defend' poster also featured returning protagonists including Peter Evans as Quicksilver, Nicholas Hoult as Beast and Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique. The artwork seemed to imply Mystique's large role in the upcoming film as she is placed front and center among the other young mutants.

A villain poster has also been released complimenting the other one showcasing the good guys.  The 'Destroy' poster, as shown on an article Yahoo! Movies, showed Apocalypse's Four Horsemen.

Oscar Isaacs joins the new cast as the ancient and almighty mutant En Sabah Nur a.k.a. Apocalypse, the upcoming film's latest and worst antagonist. He is surrounded by Olivia Munn's Psylocke, Ben Hardy's Angel and Alexandra Shipp's Storm with Michael Fassbender's Magneto leading the team.

Apocalypse's elite underlings have been genetically and mentally altered to serve either through eventual submission or force. Their titles Death, Famine, Pestilence and War have been derived from the biblical Four Horsemen. They are enhanced with extremely powerful abilities and always play key roles in Apocalypse's plans of dominion.

According to IGN, 'X-Men: Apocalypse' will follow Professor X and Mystique as they lead a new team of superheroes in a war against an ancient mutant who seeks to start a new world order. It is the ninth installment in the 'X-Men' cinematic series and directed by Bryan Singer.

'X-Men: Apocalypse' is an upcoming superhero film scheduled to be released on May 27, 2016. It is part of the 'X-Men' shared cinematic universe and follows 2014's 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' that starred James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart.
