Former Mexican president Vicente Fox has given his comments on the United States presidential elections and he is clearly opposing Republican frontrunner Donald Trump. In his recent interview, Fox noted that if Trump would win as the president, it could result to a trade war.

According to The Guardian, Trump has said in the past that he will be imposing tariffs and if this happens, Mexico is sure to react in kind noting that it will surely hurt both countries. He noted that people will be "losing everything in a trade war." Fox added that it is up to Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton to save the country from a Trump presidency.

The statements of Fox came a day after it has been announced that Trump has a huge lead over his Republican rivals. He recently just won Michigan, Mississippi, and Hawaii, Inquirer reported.

More on the supposed tariffs that Trump wants to establish once elected for the presidential post, Fox said that they already put tariffs on the hundreds of billions of dollars that the U.S. sells to Mexico.

Aside from the tariffs, Trump also vowed to make Mexico pay for the barrier that he wants to build. The Republican presidential candidate has proposed other measures saying that visa and border card fees will be raised, and that he will also be seizing remittances and cut foreign aid, Yahoo News reported.

Trump has criticized Mexico from the start of his campaign noting that they are the ones causing the lack of jobs in the United States as well as immigrants from the country are the ones brining drugs, crimes, and rapists in the nation. With this, Fox said that Trump should know that Mexicans are "small but spicy like chili peppers." Fox warned Trump to not mess with the Mexicans and not offend their dignity.

Fox continued to comment on Trump saying he is an absolute nightmare and that he "flirts with white supremacists." The former Mexican president also accused Trump of wanting unlimited power once he takes the office.

Fox also noted that there is no way that Trump will be able to do everything that he is promising in his campaign platform. If in any way he would be able to put into practice the "tough talks" against Mexico and China, Fox thinks that it would backfire.

Fox also said that he is not in favor of Bernie Sanders, Ted Cruz, and Marco Rubio.
