Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge G925F Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow via XXU3DPAD Stock Firmware: Installation Guide

Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow has not been officially released yet to Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge phones. However, Galaxy S6 Edge units with model number G925F can now be updated to Marshmallow via XXU3DPAD firmware.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is lucky enough to get support from. The firmware went through a series of tests before Samsung released it to the international version of Galaxy S6 Edge.

On top of some native Marshmallow features, Samsung was able to haul as well the latest TouchWiz interface which takes with it the Apps edge. In addition, XXU3DPAD is definitely an unbranded firmware, which means pre-installed apps on the device and extra language packs will not be automatically installed.

Before deciding to install XXU3DPAD on Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, be reminded of the following reminders and preconditions:

1.     Use only Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge with model number G925F. Using other variant may cause severe damage to phone.

2.     Install TWRP Recovery here.

3.     Back up all necessary data here.

4.     Download a driver here.

5.     Like in all cases, installing any custom ROM induces risk of damaging device. Neither this site nor developers of XXU3DPAD will be held responsible for such damage.

To proceed with the installation, here are a few steps to do:

1.     Download Android 6.0.1 G925FXXU3DPAD here and extract the zip file.

2.     Download Odin v3.09 here.

3.     Turn off phone.

4.     Go to Download mode by press holding volume down and home buttons together.

5.     Press the power button twice.

6.     Open Odin on the PC.

7.     Once connected, wait for the ID:COM boxes to turn into yellow with the COM port number.

8.     Select the files to be flashed or installed on the phone.

9.     In Odin, check the Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options.

10.  Click the Start button for begin installation.

11.  Wait until the installation is completed.

 To check the software versions, go to Settings > About phone.
